In-home lab draws
The blood work your clinician orders, drawn at your kitchen table instead of in a crowded patient service center.
Common tests
Some point-of-care tests, such as fingerstick glucose, rapid strep, and urinalysis dipsticks, give results during the visit.
From your arm to your results
- 1Your clinician orders the tests and we confirm any fasting instructions.
- 2A trained phlebotomist or clinician draws the sample at home.
- 3Samples are transported the same day to a CLIA-certified reference lab.
- 4Your clinician reviews the results and contacts you, usually by phone or video.
Fasting draws first
Fasting labs get early-morning slots so you can eat sooner.
Hydrate
Unless told otherwise, drinking water beforehand makes veins easier to find.
Outside orders
Have orders from another doctor? Ask us. We can sometimes draw them for established patients.
Questions
Can I get lab work without a visit?
Lab draws are part of care for our patients and require a clinician's order. We don't offer direct-to-consumer testing.
How long do results take?
Routine results usually come back within one to three business days. Specialized tests can take longer. Your clinician will contact you about anything that needs attention.
Will my insurance cover the lab fees?
The reference lab bills your insurance directly in most cases. We choose in-network labs whenever possible and will tell you if we can't.
